REAL.LIFE.MUSIC CAMP, directed by Liz Berlin of Rusted Root is a unique opportunity, which provides young artists with invaluable knowledge, experience and resources, to help guide them towards success as working musicians in the music industry. Workshops and seminar topics will range from band dynamics to booking your own shows, web presence and marketing, as well as musicianship and performance seminars. All participants will walk away from the camp with a professionally recorded demo of their own original music, professional band photo, comprehensive bio and a wealth of printed resources to help guide them in their careers. Ages generally range from 14 to 18, but anyone who feels they would benefit is welcome to attend. We've had some over 20's and heck if we get enough middle schoolers, we'll go for it!
REAL.LIFE.MUSIC CAMP will culminate with a concert on Friday, August 8th, featuring the talents of all camp artists and bands as well as presenting and visiting artists. The show will be open to the public. All are invited to attend.
REAL.LIFE CAMPS are presented by Mr. Smalls and Creative.Life.Support. C.L.S is responsible for the wide-range of philanthropic services offered in conjunction with Mr. Smalls, to provide learning and professional opportunities for the community. Among these are "C.L.S Records" -a not-for-profit record label, the "Sonic Funhouse" concert series -showcasing Pittsburgh's musical talent, and an extensive college internship program spanning all aspects of Mr Smalls' operations. |
